We are pleased to announce the inaugural UAN 1 Prize for visual artists and extend this invitation to creative minds who understand what it means to be voiceless.

THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME
The name "UAN 1" merges the soft pronunciation of "Juan" in Spanish with the number "One" in English. This symbolizes our core belief: despite our differences in language, culture, and experience, there exists a fundamental human connection that binds us all together.
ABOUT THE PRIZE
The UAN 1 Prize aims to discover and celebrate visual art that explores the experience of those who lack representation or whose voices go unheard in society. We seek artwork that bridges divides, creates understanding, and illuminates shared humanity.
SELECTION PROCESS
Five independent jurors external to the project - accomplished artists, patrons of the arts, and creators—will adjudicate the competition. The winning works will be featured in "The Voiceless" theater play and showcased on our platform.
PRIZES
- First Prize: Exhibition in "The Voiceless" theater play, feature on our website, and recognition at the play reading. ($300)
- Second Prize: Exhibition alongside the first-prize winner and digital showcase ($150)
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Artists must submit:
- Original artwork (all visual mediums accepted)
- Title of the work
- Full name of the artist
- Artist statement explaining the meaning and inspiration behind the work
SUBMISSION FORMATS
Artists must send to the email art@voiceless.life:
- A photograph of the original Artwork in screen resolution (72 PPI) with a minimum of 2500 pixels.
- In the case of videos, send a link for direct download.

IMPORTANT DATES
- Submission Deadline: December 1, 2025
- Winners Announcement: December 28, 2025
LEGAL TERMS
By submitting work to the UAN 1 Prize, artists acknowledge and agree that:
- Their submitted artwork may be published on our website, social media platforms, and promotional materials related to the UAN 1 Prize.
- Winning entries will be displayed during "The Voiceless" theater play performances and related events.
- The UAN 1 Prize organizers have the right to reproduce images of the submitted artwork for promotional, educational, and documentation purposes.
- Full credit will always be given to the artist when their work is displayed, published, or otherwise used.
- The artist retains copyright ownership of their work, while granting the UAN 1 Prize a non-exclusive license to use the work as described above.
- Personal information provided during submission will be handled in accordance with our privacy policy.
